Terms of use — Mind First

The service
Mind First is a wellness app: a short morning and evening check-in. With an active trial or subscription, it can block apps you select until that check-in is done. Calls and other apps you do not select are not the product’s target.
The check-in works without a purchase. A subscription is required before Mind First blocks selected apps. There is no forever-free cover.
Mind First blocks only the apps you select. It is a personal wellness app for the phone’s owner, and it is not medical care. Read the wellness disclaimer at wellness disclaimer before you rely on it in a crisis. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988. Elsewhere, use local emergency services or https://findahelpline.com.
License
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own, under these terms and the store rules.
On iOS, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ (the “Apple Standard EULA”). If these terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA on a point Apple requires, the Apple Standard EULA wins for the iOS app.
On Android, Google Play’s terms apply to the download and the payment.
Subscriptions
Protection that blocks selected apps is an auto-renewing subscription sold by the store.

Product ids: mindfirst_hard_gate_yearly and mindfirst_hard_gate_monthly. Both unlock the hard_gate entitlement while the trial or subscription is active.
The $29.99 and $4.99 figures are the US dollar list prices. The store may show and charge a different price for your country and currency, including in the EU. The price you confirm on the Apple or Google payment sheet is the price you pay. Play’s default price currency for this app is USD.
Trial
Both plans include a 3-day free trial as a store introductory offer, when the store account is eligible. One introductory offer per store account is typical; Apple or Google may refuse a second trial. If you are not eligible, the store charges the paid price when you confirm.
When the 3 days end, the plan converts to a paid subscription and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a paid subscription before the trial ends, where the store applies that rule.
Auto-renewal and cancellation
- The subscription renews for the same length (one year, or one month) until you cancel.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- The account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancel in the store, not by deleting the app. On iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Cancellation stops the next renewal. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, or until the trial ends if you cancel during the trial.
- After the trial or subscription lapses, blocking selected apps turns off. The check-in still opens.
- Restore purchases is available in the app for the same store account.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. We do not receive your card number and cannot issue a store refund from inside Mind First.

Acceptable use
You will not misuse the app, attempt to break store billing, or use Mind First to monitor another person without proper authority. You are responsible for the apps you select and for the words you write. Those words stay on your device.
Availability
The app depends on Apple and Google. Family Controls, usage access, display over other apps, exact alarms, and notifications can be refused or revoked by the system. If a permission is off, the check-in can still work and selected apps are not blocked.
We may change or stop the app. If we stop selling the subscription, store rules decide the rest of a period you already paid for.
Disclaimers
The app is provided as-is. Reflection prompts are general wellness, not professional advice. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of your country, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Jeremy Ward is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data stored only on your device. Our total liability arising out of the app in a 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the Mind First subscription in that period, unless a mandatory consumer law says otherwise. EU and UK consumers keep their statutory rights.
Store-specific terms
You and Jeremy Ward acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and Jeremy Ward, not with Apple or Google, except for the store’s own terms.
- Jeremy Ward is responsible for the app and its content, and for warranty claims that the store does not assume, to the extent the store requires the developer to say so.
- Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of the store license and may enforce it.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Jeremy Ward lives, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you also have the mandatory protections of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes
We will post updated terms at terms and change the effective date. Subscription terms that Apple or Google require to be shown at purchase are also shown in the app before you buy. If those in-app lines and this page ever disagree, the price and renewal terms on the store payment sheet control the charge.
